Please join us on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at the Metropolitan Club in Manhattan, for our Annual Land Conservation Awards Luncheon where we will honor Lucy Rockefeller Waletzky, M.D.
Lucy has built on her family’s remarkable tradition of conservation and improved access to parks through her successful partnership with the Open Space Institute and support of other groups. She is a founder of OSI’s Alliance for New York State Parks Program, an initiative devoted to the restoration and support of New York’s magnificent state parks. As chair of both the New York State Council of Parks and the Taconic Region State Parks Commission she, along with many of her fellow members, has partnered with OSI on projects aimed at elevating state parks and making them more enjoyable and welcoming to visitors.
Each year, OSI bestows our Land Conservation Award on an individual or group who has made significant contributions to protecting open space and the benefits it brings; this year’s event takes on special significance, as we celebrate the impact of our dear friend and collaborator. The event will be a wonderful opportunity to learn about our accomplishments and goals, while celebrating Lucy’s enormous efforts and contributions.
