OSI Praises Biden Picks to Lead EPA, Interior Department, and CEQ

The Open Space Institute enthusiastically welcomes President-elect Joe Biden’s historic and exciting picks to lead the US Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of the Interior, and the White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ).

His choices of Michael Regan to be the first Black male EPA administrator, Rep. Deb Haaland, the first Native American interior secretary, and Brenda Mallory, the first black CEQ head, ushers in an exciting chapter of new leadership, a much-needed commitment to protecting our country’s precious natural resources and lands, and a new era of representative management for both agencies.

We look forward to working with this new leadership team and helping to strengthen and grow our nation’s environmental and conservation communities so that all Americans can enjoy the benefits of clean water, clean air, and safe and welcoming access to nature.
