Today’s Supreme Court decision limiting the EPA’s ability to regulate power plant emissions is a severe blow to the present and long-term health of our planet. The Court’s action undermines efforts to reduce pollution generated by power plants, expediting the devastating effects of climate change now and for generations. This decision increases the urgency for federal and state investments in clean energy and natural solutions to fight climate change and curb its effects – such as strategic land protection, improved forest management, and strategies that protect vulnerable communities from severe flooding and sea-level rise. There is simply no time to waste.
