Voted America's Best!

Graced with some of the most magnificent scenery in the eastern US, Letchworth State Park attracts more than a million visitors each year with breathtaking scenic views, waterfalls and gorge-side trails.

For years, the park in Western New seemed to have it all. That is, except a welcoming place to help orient and introduce fans to its unique geology, wildlife, and botany--not to mention terrific trails and other outdoors offerings.

OSI led a private campaign to raise $3.3 million for the Humphrey Nature Center's standout interpretive features and teaching areas.

A public treasure

This changed in July 2016, when the new Humphrey Nature Center opened its doors for the first time. The Open Space Institute led a private campaign to raise $3.3 million for standout interpretive features and multiple teaching areas.

Today, the Humphrey Nature Center is welcoming new and return visitors and educating the next generation about the park and all it offers.
